The HSA position is the focal point of technical design and architecture within the Sales organization for all pre-sales and post-sales customer engagements. HSAs are expected to have complete product knowledge and ability, technical sales ability, and expert level networking engineering knowledge (including design and troubleshooting). HSAs are the technical interface between the Sales organization and outside customer prospects.

As a Hosting Solutions Architect you will be / have:

  • Working with customer prospects to develop custom hosting solutions in a sales engineering capacity.
  • Developing quotes for Account Managers based on custom customer configurations you have architected by speaking with the customer during the pre-sales process.
  • Working with Jupiter Hosting vendors on developing the cost analysis for all architected solutions.
  • Working with finance to develop the finance model for custom hosting solutions.
  • Performing technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects.
  • Assisting with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities.
  • Occasionally providing  post-sales support and coordinate support with the Network Operations Group.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member.
  • Understanding and conversant about company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to assess a problem and determine an effective solution.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated operating experience in one or all of the following areas: Server Technology, Networking, Storage Technologies .
  • Possess competitive knowledge including solution, technology and product offerings.
  • Mentor other HSAs.

Requirements:

  • We are looking for an individual who takes pride in his or her knowledge of advanced and complex hosted technologies, and can apply that knowledge to develop the architecture necessary to run their online business.
  • You must have held a position in systems administration, architecture, or network design to be considered for this position.
  • Broad and detailed knowledge of server, network, and storage technologies.
  • Be capable of handling technical issues of any degree of complexity with no need for supervision or assistance.
    Expert knowledge of Routing and Switching and Load Balancing Infrastructure.
  • Have worked in an environment designing hosting solutions for high-bandwidth services such as video over internet, IPTV, streaming, and progressive downloading.
  • Expert knowledge of HTTP, DNS, SSL, SMTP and other Internet protocols.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Application Software such as Apache, IIS, MySQL.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required – both oral and written, with the ability to articulate and educate customers about complex technology simply.
  • Ability to diffuse complicated technical and political situations with enterprise customers.
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience required.
  • Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience recommended.
  • Ability to establish report with prospects with the capacity to listen to their pain and needs. To translate those not-so technical issues and requirements into hosting solutions.
  • Work with outside vendors and inside account managers on a daily basis to develop the short and long term costs of your architecture.
  • Must be willing to travel and attend trade show events.  Travel will make up 25% of your schedule. Must have a U.S. passport and be a U.S. citizen.
